Commercial carpet is once a year for normal enviorments or more depending on traffic.
Residential carpet should be cleaned once a year or more if you have kids and or pets.
Getting ready to get your carpets cleaned
There are a few things to consider before having the carpets cleaned that can really help the technician save time, and do a better job they are.
1. have the carpeted areas to be cleaned clear of all personal items, waste baskets, any clutter and any important paper work there may be on the floor that could be damaged by getting wet. Make note of any areas of concern and inform the technician.
2. have any plastic chair matts, rugs and any runners removed so that the area under them can be vacuumed and cleaned. (Very important never replace these items on a carpet until it is completely dry)
3. Alway make sure there is good ventilation in the areas (this will help speed up dry time)
4. If the cleaning technician will be alone make sure the technician has an emergency number in case there is a problem.
5. If the technician needs to use your electricity make sure they know where the breaker box is just in case
6. if they need to hookup to your water make sure they know where that is
